Empowering people
As a coach and trainer my aim is to empower people. It gives me great satisfaction to see people develop their skills and gain confidence. I bring with me 20+ years of work experience in Australia and The Netherlands.
In the past years I have trained people from many different countries and organisations in design research, design thinking and facilitation. I have also coached teams and individuals at ParnasSys, KPN, WaterNet and Nationale Nederlanden.
Design thinking skills
Design Thinking is a human-centred creative problem solving approach. It is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand who they are designing for, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test.
I coach and train people in creative problem solving using the Design Thinking approach: Discover, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test. This includes using tools like persona’s, journey maps and stakeholder maps. It also covers reflecting on mindsets, behaviours and organisational culture.

Design research skills
Design research helps us understand and connect with the perspectives, goals and painpoints of our customers and end users. It can lead to us thinking differently about our products and services and uncover new ways to deliver value. Research insights provide direction for new products and services, or help optimise existing ones.
Design research training and coaching can relate to research methods but also to research strategy, operations and stakeholder management.
Tailored training and coaching
As a trainer and coach I provide a safe space for you to develop your skills. You will be encouraged to learn-by-doing and to reflect.
Coaching can be done one-on-one or together with colleagues. I am guided by your needs, so the first session is typically spent on establishing your coaching goals. Based on these goals and your current projects, we decide together on how and when I can be most effective as coach.
The training I offer is hands-on, interactive and tailored to the learning goals of the team. I prefer small groups so that everybody gets personal attention and has time to share experiences and ask questions.
If you are looking for an open training I recommend the Design Thinkers Academy in Amsterdam, where I am a freelance trainer.
Coaching and training can be done online or in-person, in Dutch or English.
